Can Pak Lah Be PM and not Umno President?


Cheeky thought indeed.  A fellow blogger had posted a similar thought here.  After all, we had assumed that when Pak Lah announced he wasn’t defending his Umno Presidency.  We assumed the next Umno President will traditionally be the BN Chairman and then the PM of Malaysia.  And that person perhaps may be Najib himself.

What Pak Lah clearly said was that he wasn’t defending his post in Umno but he didn’t say he was stepping down as the PM.  Is what he didn’t say important?  We should not assume too much

The King’s say in removing the PM…

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin is the King of Malaysia. He is the ultimate ruler of Malaysia, the King, The PM Maker.  It is in his hands if what was reported about Pakatan Rakyat’s move is true.  We have seen what happened in Perlis, Perak and Trengganu.  Is this another of those times?

PM Surprise Move, Now over to Najib and Anwar


It appears that Pak Lah will defend his presidency this December.  Judging from today’s MalaysianInsider report here, Pak Lah seems to have risen above the detractors in the Umno Supreme Council meeting last week.  Instead of caving in to Muhyiddin, Rafidah, Hishamuddin and Apdal Shafiee who were reportedly going for the jugular pressing for Pak Lah to handover to Najib, Pak Lah took a deep breath and shocked them by doing just the opposite.

Will Najib want to go against his boss?  Will his backers push for the prize now?  Does Najib want to defy Pak Lah?  Pak Lah today knows who is for him and who is against him.
